From December 3 to 6, the International Business Week 2024 will be held in Ufa. The Forum is traditionally organized by the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The International Business Week is an annual professional platform for discussing and developing dialogue between the state and business. In 2023, the event hosted a coordination meeting of the ministers of economic development of the Russian regions, with over six thousand participants, including leaders of federal and regional executive authorities, business representatives, official and business delegations from Belarus, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and other countries.
This year, the Forum will focus on key issues of the promising development of Bashkortostan and Russia in the fields of economics, export, innovation, and investment, within the framework of four thematic days: December 3 – "Entrepreneurship Day"; December 4 – "10th All-Russian Legal Forum"; December 5 – "Yalta International Economic Forum"; December 6 – "International Business Week."
The Forum will include an exhibition, B2B negotiations where guests and participants can learn from their colleagues’ experiences and expand their business contacts, an awards ceremony for specialists in public administration and business."
International Business Week to Award Exporters of the Year
The International Business Week in Ufa planned for December 3 through 6 will award the winners of the republic stage of the Exporter of the Year. The award is initiated by the International Cooperation and Export National Project and organized by the Russian Export Center (VEB.RF Group).
“The Exporter of the Year Award allows thousands of companies across the country to announce their successes and demonstrate that export offers businesses great opportunities for development. The Russian Export Center stands at the forefront in supporting exporters. Supported by the Government we do whatever possible so that our companies could make their way to foreign markets more efficiently and quickly. We want them to know that on every path they have someone to turn to for help,” said Alexander Molodtsov, Vice-President of the Russian Export Center.
This year, 33 companies from Bashkortostan reached the regional stage (compared to 26 companies in 2023). 51% of them represent small businesses. Seventeen companies were selected for the finals. These are companies working in petrochemicals, mechanical engineering, agriculture, perfumery, food, woodworking, furniture industry, and supplies of ready-to-eat food. Their total export volume in 2023 amounted to 9.6 billion rubles. The winners of the republic stage will represent the region at the federal level.
“The title of the Exporter of the Year is an indicator of the high quality of our companies' products abroad. In just 11 months of 2024, Bashkir companies signed 121 contracts with foreign countries. The best exporting companies will be able to take advantage of such benefits as support for negotiations with foreign partners, registration on foreign marketplaces, and training seminars. And this time we will also present the winners of the republic stage of the award with certificates for business English training,” said Margarita Bolytcheva, Acting Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The Forum will feature an exhibition, a gastrofestival and a B2B negotiation area. There guests and participants will get to know about their colleagues' experience and extend their network. Besides, the event will hold business development and public administration awards.
The Exporter of the Year Award is given to companies and individual entrepreneurs who have achieved the greatest success in exporting non-resource non-energy products, works, services, as well as results of intellectual activity. It was established by the Government of the Russian Federation in 1998. Prize-winners of the Exporter of the Year are determined in two steps. Firstly, each federal district holds a local stage, then an expert commission selects the best exporters of Russia from among the companies that won the local stage. The contest is held under the International Cooperation and Export national project. The award is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
